Today we all need to think about all those questions which remain unanswered even after so many years of independence, for which our ancestors sacrificed their lives. We used to eat bread even when we were slaves. We used to get sleep even when we were slaves. Marriage-marriage-relations used to happen even when we were slaves. But our forefathers did not approve of this slavery. Lakhs of people sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our country. He sacrificed his everything. People spent their whole life, gave up everything. This country has got freedom on the basis of this sacrifice, penance and sacrifice.
But even after so many years of independence, the life of the workers has become worse than that of the animals, the condition of the farmer has become even worse, the students have to wander with their degrees, then the question arises in our mind that after all we have achieved freedom. What have you done in all these years? Even after so many years of independence, if the condition of women has remained sub-standard, then what can be the way to get rid of it? Why are the conditions of all those sections of the society whose labor, through whose hard work this country is made, their condition so bad? If the laborers and farmers do not work in the field, then food cannot be produced. If the workers do not shed their blood and sweat in the factories of the country, then the dazzling world of development today cannot generate resources on its own. But why is the life of the workers who create these resources so forced, so difficult?
I agree that India has taken its step forward during its development journey after independence, but along with the positive aspects of that development journey, today a huge mountain of negative aspects has also emerged. Today the whole country, especially the youth, wants a solution to those problems and is wandering here and there in search of that solution. He is wagging his hands and feet all around to solve those problems. Looking through the pages of history and trying to understand the challenges of the future.
In such an era, it is being said as a claim to solve these problems that if India is made Hindu Rashtra, then all the problems will be solved. But can Hindu nationalism, which we call negative nationalism, solve India’s unemployment problem? Can negative nationalism solve the problems of students of India? Can the path of negative nationalism solve the problems of farmers? Can the path of negative nationalism solve the problems of Dalits, backwards and tribals of India, their humiliation? Can the path of negative nationalism inside India make India a developed, prosperous and happy nation? Can’t make
Positive nationalism is needed to make India a developed, prosperous and happy nation. The question may arise in the minds of many people that nationalism is nationalism, what is the positive and negative in it? It is important to understand this with a cool mind. A human being is a human being but he thinks positively and also thinks negative. Similarly there is thought, which is positive as well as negative, and similarly there is action, which is positive as well as negative. On the basis of that work, the results are good and bad also come out. In the same way there is nationalism and the result of this nationalism is negative as well as positive.
The sons and daughters of India have nothing to do with either positive nationalism or negative nationalism. When we fall ill, we need treatment for that disease. If that treatment is done by Ayurveda then Ayurveda is good, if it is done by allopath then allopath is also good, if it is done by Unani medicine then Unani medicine is also good, if it is done by homeopathic medicine then homeopathic medicine is also good. We need a solution, the youth of the country wants a solution.
A solution is being claimed by negative nationalism, in which it is being claimed that if India is made Hindu Rashtra, then all the problems of India can be solved. What is Hindu Nationalism? What is negative nationalism? Two different types of nationalism arose in the world under two different historical circumstances. Negative nationalism and positive nationalism.
The question will arise in the minds of the people that how to differentiate between negative nationalism and positive nationalism? Negative nationalism works for domination over others whereas positive nationalism fights for justice and entitlement. Negative nationalism seeks to enslave others while positive nationalism fights for freedom. When negative nationalism dominates other people, societies and communities inside its country, then it wants to dominate the other nation and in the process of that domination, the world had to face world war and genocide twice. Positive nationalism as I said – fights for justice, fights for rights, fights for freedom and fights for humanity and fraternity within the world. If you think that people are organizing for justice, then understand that there is positive nationalism. If people are organizing to share, then understand that there is positive nationalism. If people are fighting for freedom, then understand that there is positive nationalism. If people are fighting for humanity, fraternity and equality, then understand that there is positive nationalism. Same if people are fighting for supremacy over others then understand that there is negative nationalism. If fighting to humiliate others, to enslave others, then understand that there is negative nationalism. If they are fighting for loot, gathering to enslave another country, to dominate it, then understand that there is negative nationalism.
Can negative nationalism solve the problems in future? To know this, it is very important to go through the pages of history. According to the hypothesis of negative nationalism, according to which any nation can become strong, move forward and unitedly solve its problems only when it has one religion, one language and one race. Negative nationalism says shut your mind and act only with your heart. He believes in superstition. On behalf of positive nationalism, I want to say to you, open your heart and mind, open all the senses, then think, understand and think, then believe.
I would like to give two examples of the experiments of negative nationalism in the world. The first example is Germany, where the picture of negative nationalism developed on the basis of one race, one caste and one religion was culminated under Hitler’s leadership. What was its result? First result – millions of people were massacred inside Germany. The blood of sons and daughters of that country was shed. The second result – Germany was divided into two parts and the third result – the hero who claimed to make the country powerful was forced to commit suicide. When you bring negativity to its peak, then negativity spreads inside the society and negativity spreads inside you too. Negativity can never develop. It has caused destruction in the past, it is doing it today and it will destroy tomorrow also. This is what the history of Germany teaches us.
Another example of negative nationalism is seen in 1947 after India’s freedom struggle, where the principle of two-nationalism comes to the fore, which holds that people of two different religions cannot form a nation together. Therefore, if their future is to be protected, then two separate nations will have to be formed. In this way the country was divided. 15 August 1947 is the day of independence of this country and 15 August 1947 is also the day of fragmentation of this country. After fragmenting this country, a new country Pakistan was created with the claim that in this new country the path of progress will open for all, guarantee of education to all, employment to all.
We all know that Pakistan, which was created on the basis of religion, had three consequences. Even within Pakistan, thousands and thousands of people were victims of massacres due to large-scale terrorism. Pakistan was divided into two parts in the form of Pakistan and Bangladesh, while people of the same religion live in both the places. All the national heroes of Pakistan were forced to undergo murder and suicide.
All sons and daughters of Pakistan, a nation built on the basis of religion, did not get guarantee of education, did not get guarantee of employment, women did not get guarantee of freedom, Pakistan could not become a developed and organized nation of the world and eventually it was fragmented. . The same situation happened to Germany, that too was fragmented. Built on the foundation of negative nationalism, when Pakistan could not remain united, Germany could not remain united, then how will India be able to remain united?
On the basis of religion, on the basis of race, on the basis of language, nations were not able to coexist yesterday, nor will they be able to live today. Neither could they reach the heights of progress and development by staying organized yesterday, nor can they reach today. All those youths of the country who are under the illusion that becoming a nation on the basis of one religion will open the way for India’s progress, will open the way to prosperity, will open the way to employment and India will become the best nation in the world. I would request all those young people to look, examine and understand the history of these two countries, Germany and Pakistan with a cool mind.
The second claim of the carriers of negative nationalism is that they are protecting the civilization and culture of India. This also needs to be examined in depth. Today all the youth are joining this whole campaign of negative nationalism under the illusion that if the country does not develop, then at least our religion, our society, our civilization, our Indian culture will be protected. All those young people need to look in the pages of history that what is Indian civilization and culture?
Is the culture and tradition within the Indus Valley civilization a part of Indian culture or not? Is our civilization, culture and tradition developed during the Vedic period, is it part of Indian civilization and culture or not? The civilization and culture that developed during the Jain period is a part of Indian civilization and culture or not? The civilization and culture that developed during the Buddhist period is a part of Indian civilization and culture or not? The whole campaign of Bhakti movement of Kabir, Nanak, Jaisi, Dadu, Meera within India is part of India’s civilization and culture or not? The civilization, culture and tradition that developed inside India during the world’s longest freedom struggle from 1757 to 1947, is it part of India’s civilization and culture or not? If we remove these parts of civilization and culture from the pages of our history, then on the basis of the remaining part of India’s civilization and culture, neither Indian history can be made nor India’s future can be made.
Today it is being said that if you are a nationalist then you have to speak one language, follow one religion, follow one culture, follow one ideology and if you think differently then you are anti-national. What has been our tradition? The oldest texts of India are the Vedas. Not a single Veda was composed in India. In India, Rigveda was born, Samaveda was born, Atharvaveda was born and Yajurveda was born. If India had a tradition of only one kind of thought process, then the four Vedas would not have been born. There are nine oldest darshans in India. The nine philosophies of India’s culture and civilization were propounded by different sages, by different sages. In India, if there is an atheist philosophy like Charvaka philosophy, then there is also a theist philosophy like Vedanta philosophy. The Charvaka philosophy is also born in India. Jain philosophy, Buddhist philosophy, Sankhya philosophy, Yoga philosophy, Vaisheshik philosophy, Mimamsa philosophy and Nyaya philosophy also arise in India. Apart from this, the number of Puranas is also eighteen. What do the four Vedas, nine Darshanas and eighteen Puranas say in India? They say that within our Indian civilization and culture there was freedom to think differently, to think, to understand and to communicate, to talk to people according to their own knowledge, conscience and behavior. Indian culture is the tradition of four Vedas, Indian culture is the tradition of eighteen Puranas, Indian culture is the tradition of nine philosophies.
If we try to look at the pages of history, many people say that India was once a golden bird. India gave zero to the world. It was a time when we had the freedom to think and communicate in different ways. Before the arrival of Manusmriti, the scene of India was different. As we became narrow on the basis of Manusmriti, our talents also got frustrated and when talents became frustrated, the way of our slavery also opened and eventually the path of our development got closed. Therefore, when we talk about thinking on Indian civilization and culture, I want to tell all the youth that only by collecting the positive aspects of India’s overall civilization and culture, the way for a new India will be made. India can never move forward from the negative thinking that is there, which is the tradition of superstition.
We need spirituality as well as science. Where spirituality is needed for the development of personality and development of positive thinking, science and technology are needed for the development of this country. Neither the development of the individual nor the development of the nation can take place by following the path of superstition and pomp. Neither Indian can be strong nor India nation can be strong. Therefore, if Indian civilization and culture is to be progressed, then we have to revive the tradition from Buddha to Vivekananda and from Kabir to Bhagat Singh. I want to responsibly say that the tradition from Buddha to Vivekananda and from Kabir to Bhagat Singh has been the proud tradition of India. It is a tradition based on sacrifice, on renunciation, on penance, on the highest qualities of Indian civilization and culture.
Any individual, any society and any nation can progress only by combining the positive aspects of its history. This is what history has taught us and the future also rests on it. That’s why I want to tell you young people that if the country has to move forward, then we have to develop the positive aspects of Indian civilization and culture and move ahead while avoiding its negative aspects.
You have to get rid of the negative thinking that is inside you, the bad qualities that are inside you, then only you will be able to move forward. When you develop the positive energy that is inside you, then only you will be able to move forward. If you keep negative energy just because it is your own and therefore you carry it forward, it will lead to destruction. But if you adopt positive energy and adopt it and take it forward, then the path of development will open, the path of prosperity will open, the path of prosperity will open. The name of combining the negative points of the pages of history is negative nationalism. Positive nationalism is the name of moving forward by combining the positive aspects of all those traditions, beliefs and culture of history and the positive energy inside us.
The third claim of the carriers of negative nationalism and Hindu nationalism is that they are the biggest patriots. This claim of his also needs to be deeply understood. During the freedom struggle in India, thinkers of Hindu nationalism were born, their organizations were also formed. I want to tell you that lakhs of people sacrificed their lives in 1857 for the freedom of this country, they were not the people affected by the thinking of Hindu nationalism. Within this country, Kartar Singh Sarabha sacrificed his life on the gallows laughingly, he was not influenced by the thinking of Hindu nationalism. In India, thousands of youths like Madan Lal Dhingra, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan laughed and kissed the noose, all of them were not influenced by Hindu nationalist thinking, but gave their martyrdom to Indian nationalism. Impressed by the thinking of positive nationalism, he was hanged.
Even today, it is difficult to name the proponents of negative nationalism from the freedom struggle of Hindu nationalism. When people were fighting for the freedom of the country, why not a single youth was born from their ideology who would sacrifice their lives for the country? Altogether, only one name comes to the fore by manipulation, that name comes – Veer Savarkar ji’s. Veer Savarkar ji had two lives. The freedom struggle of 1857, fought on the basis of the unity of Hindus and Muslims in one life, affects him the most, but inside the prison, when the British pressure on him, he apologizes to the British and comes out. After this, contrary to the tradition of positive nationalism of 1857, Hindus become propagators of nationalism and Hindutva. In this way the fire which was inside them for the freedom of India is extinguished and they are separated from the main stream of the freedom struggle. The question arises that today those who are claiming nationalism and patriotism? Why could they not prepare a team of youths who fought during the freedom struggle of this country within that ideology? Why was he ashamed to hoist the national flag of India for a long time?
I want to tell you that negative nationalism can create supremacy inside this country, can put some people on the throne of power but cannot save the civilization and culture of this country. Negative nationalism cannot create the spirit of sacrifice, penance and sacrifice for Mother Bharati within this country and cannot make the country strong by uniting. Negative nationalism simply does not have this capability. This is not against any person. This is a matter of ideology which does not have a solution in the end. The ideology which could not find a solution in the pages of history. At present, even after reaching the highest peak of power, the ideology which is unable to find a solution, that ideology will find a solution tomorrow, we have doubts on it.
This ideology cannot solve the problems so to come to power it has to spread hatred, riots have to happen, people have to fight with each other and when there is fight, conflict, riots, hatred spreads. Then the problem gets worse. When the problem escalates, there will be more riots and hatred will be spread. The cycle of hatred and riots is such a cycle, from which today if the sons and daughters of India do not think of a way out, then the day is not far when we will be stuck in such a blind alley from where there is no way to get out. will not have.
If negative nationalism does not have a solution then it is also important to know how positive nationalism can solve it because protesting for the sake of protest does not create a solution. New thinking is needed for the solution, a new base is needed, a new initiative is needed.
As I said earlier, negative nationalism is built on the foundation of hate and positive nationalism is built on the foundation of love. The first aspect of negative nationalism is breaking. The formula to rule the country by breaking hearts is negative nationalism. To create such an entity in the country by joining the hearts, which creates a solution, its name is positive nationalism.
What is positive nationalism? Positive nationalism says that if the country is to be strengthened, then people of all religions living inside the country, people of all castes, people of all languages, people of all regions, be it men or women, all Energy has to be combined into a formula. When the total human energy, natural energy, cultural energy of this country is added, then the energy that will be generated from it. To get an idea of that energy, we have to look at the pages of the freedom struggle.
This country was divided into different Nawabs, different kings. On the completion of one hundred years of the rule of the East India Company, the people started a unity within this country in the war of eighteen hundred and fifty-seven independence. The great mantra of the fight that our ancestors fought against the British in this country was positive nationalism. The country begins to gather to fight the British in the first war of 1857. Nawabs also gather, kings also gather, soldiers also gather, farmers also gather, and youths also gather.
It is this energy of positive nationalism and the power of its thinking that when it is born in the heart of Bahadur Shah Zafar, it instills in him a desire to die for the country even in old age, instills enthusiasm, courage produces. The energy of positive nationalism on one hand inspires Bahadur Shah Zafar to fight and on the other creates a wave in the heart of Nana Saheb also. The energy of positive nationalism is that energy which on one hand creates a wave in the heart of Rani of Jhansi and on the other hand creates the same wave in the heart of Begum Hazrat Mahal. The energy of positive nationalism that is born in the heart of Azimullah Khan is also born in the heart of Tatya Tope.
The energy of positive nationalism is the energy that inspires Ram Prasad Bismil to swing laughingly on the noose. The energy of positive nationalism is the energy that drives Asfaq Ullah Khan to die for the country. Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil reads Gita, believes in Hinduism, believes in Arya Samaj, but stands up to sacrifice for the sake of the country. Asfaq Ullah Khan professes Islam, reads the Qur’an but is ready to sacrifice for the country’s freedom, Madre Watan’s freedom.
The energy of positive nationalism is the energy that inspires even Bhagat Singh, also inspires Chandrashekhar Azad. If Bengal-born Batukeshwar Dutt inspires, then Punjab-born Kartar Singh inspires Sarabha as well. In the sons and daughters of this country, whether they belong to any caste, any religion, any region, any gender, any language, the day when the energy of positive nationalism is born in those languages. Rising above all energy, region, gender, province, caste, religion, they start to wave their country, their nation. On the strength of this energy, our ancestors fought for freedom and this country became independent. The energy of positive nationalism unites people and it is understood by every human being that connecting increases strength and breaking weakens strength. If this country is to progress, then it is necessary to organize the overall energy of this country, to connect them together.
There is some positive energy in all the sons and daughters of this country, there is a need to thread that energy in the form of a string and the name of the thread that binds the energy of different beads of that string is – positive Nationalism. Everyone’s participation in the energy of positive nationalism is assured because equality does not mean uniformity within our society. If you want to involve people in the thinking of positive nationalism, then people’s participation and their justice have to be ensured. When you thread the garland, each bead has to be given a proper place in the thread. If the garland is made without ensuring justice and sharing, it will be chaotic and unattractive.
The thinking of positive nationalism believes that if all the energy of this country is collected, then new thinking will be born. New knowledge will arise from new thinking and new science will arise from new knowledge. New science will lead to new technology and we will be able to compete with the world at the level of technology, at the level of technology and at the level of knowledge-science. We will be able to move forward and find a way out to solve the present problems of this country.
I say time and again that there is no dearth of anything in India. Fewer countries of the world have more fertile land than India has. The amount of natural wealth India has, minerals, less countries of the world have it. The number of rivers flowing in India flows in very few countries of the world. The number of labor force that India has, less countries of the world have. The intellectual and mental capacity that India has, less countries of the world have. Nature has given everything to the people of India. If the human resources and natural resources found in India are put together in a new direction, then with that energy we can create new business, new industries and new system of development.
There are two main aspects to the thinking of positive nationalism. First – unity and love among the people and second – the share of all the people in the building of the country. When I talk about the participation of the people in the building of the country, I talk about building such a fabric of development in this country on the basis of the idea of positive nationalism in which the participation of all the people of the country is ensured. This share is what we call ’employment’. If more than half of the people of any country are unemployed, their energy is not being used, then it simply means that they are not contributing to the country’s construction. How can the country progress when a large section of the population has no stake in the making of the country? Even today, MGNREGA works in the village for only 3 months and for 9 months that energy of our nation is not utilized. Women constitute half of the population in this country but they do not have any stake in the building of the country. There is no employment for them. Today, in this country, in the number of crores, a whole crowd of youth is leaving the university-college and roaming unemployed. They are unemployed, it’s not that much. They have no economic authority, no share of their energy in our development system. They are being deprived of the share they should have in building the country.
Today we are roaming around the whole world like a copycat monkey and think that maybe we will develop India by adopting the technology of Japan. If a new government comes, it thinks that by adopting the technology of America, we will develop India. This is completely wrong. It is necessary to adopt the important and useful aspects of the technology that has developed inside the world. If we want to advance India’s development journey, we have to adapt to India’s natural resources, according to India’s monsoon and according to our regional disparities, by using the labor and knowledge of India’s sons and daughters under the conditions of the region. Accordingly, technology will have to be developed. For example, technology will have to be developed for industrial development in accordance with the products of the forests in Chhattisgarh. Similarly, different technologies will have to be developed for hilly, plain and plateau areas. With this, the sons and daughters of India can contribute in the building of the country by getting employment in their village, town and region itself. Everyone can get employment and respect. Believe me, this economic share can prove to be a strong step towards the guarantee of social justice. In this way, both the major aspects of positive nationalism- ‘mutual love’ and ‘sab ki shatari’ can be ensured so that all the people of the country get work and respect as well as everyone’s contribution can be included in the building of the country.
In this way one who has not studied can also contribute in the building of the country. Anyone who has failed the eighth can also contribute. One who is 10th pass can also contribute and one who has graduated can also contribute. Anyone who has become a doctor, engineer and teacher can also contribute. One who has become IAS and IPS can also contribute. Anyone who became Prime Minister, Chief Minister and Minister can also contribute. We can guarantee the employment of any son and daughter of India, whether educated or uneducated within this country. In this way a mechanism can be developed to ensure the share of the overall human resource in the building of the country.
This question must be arising in the mind of many of you that from where will the money come to provide employment to so many people? There is no shortage of money in this country. 100 people in India have as much money as 100 crore people do not have. We need to create such a system by which there can be equitable distribution of resources of the country. We believe that the thinking of positive nationalism will produce a positive person, the thinking of a positive person will create a positive society and from this positive society a positive nation will be born. Can also add and give opportunity to all the people to contribute in the building of this country with their labor, discretion, talent and honor. This thinking of positive nationalism can make India a happy country as well as make all Indians a happy citizen and believe that only a happy person and a happy nation can wish for the prosperity of the world.
The dream of our Indian civilization and culture is ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah Sarve Santu Niramaya, Sarve Bhadrani Pashyantu Maa Kashchit Dukh Bhag Bhavet’, the dream of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which was seen by the great sages of India in some positive moments, its path. through positive nationalism. Positive nationalism also works to connect the individual, it also works to connect the society and also works to connect such nations inside the world who are trying to eliminate each other. With this positive thinking, from individual to system, from nation to humanity, by tying everyone in one thread, one can move forward for the creation of a new thinking and new human system within the world.
Positive nationalism says that there is equal space for people of all caste, religion, religion inside the country as well as can be connected with other countries on the basis of love. All people can co-exist with their being. Talking about each other’s cooperation, love and happiness, one can reach the pinnacle of progress. When the process of assimilation starts, there will be no need to commit suicide, there will be no need for slaughter and there will be no need for dismemberment. Positive nationalism can eliminate the fragmentation within the individual, society, country and the world and unite everyone in one thread. The name of the path of wishing for the prosperity of all is positive nationalism.
Negative nationalism has been taking its roots in the psyche of the people of the country since years. This raises the question that just as the idea of negative nationalism has taken many years to spread, will it take many years to spread the idea of positive nationalism in the same way? The answer is – it will not take time. Since it is only in times of crisis that a solution arises and the more acute the crisis, the more immediate and the faster the solution is. The kind of restlessness that youth across India are feeling today. Be it the youth of Kashmir or the youth of Kanyakumari, the youth of Kutch or the youth of Kohima, all of them are carrying a restlessness that if the country progresses like this, what will be the future of the country? The solution to this anxiety and restlessness is ‘positive nationalism’, which paves the way for building an inclusive and egalitarian nation.
For spreading and propagating this idea, the youth of the country will have to guarantee that whether they are determined and dedicated to carry forward this ideological movement? It is easy to say, try to think once. Today, if a thorn pricks our feet, then a sigh comes out of our mouth. But try to feel the energy of the soil of this Mother Bharati, when the heroes of the country’s independence, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were going to kiss the noose, they knew that in a few moments the noose was hanging in their neck. But he was smiling. We could not tolerate a thorn and he was smiling at his martyrdom. He was the son of this soil. The queen of Jhansi, Begum Hazrat Mahal was the daughters of this soil. If you really want to do something for this country, first of all awaken the energy inside you. The first condition to reach the destination of positive nationalism is to awaken the positive energy within.
I want to tell all the sons and daughters of the country that it is better to awaken your energy for Maa Bharati than to suffocate and die every day. If you want to die then die by doing something, if you want to live then live by doing something. In this way, by living and dying, neither you are going to develop nor this country can develop. There are two ways to live in front of you, you have to decide.
It is true that the youth of the country have to improve their lives and fulfill the responsibilities of the family as well as if they want to make a better nation, then they have to give their time for building a new nation. So much energy is stored inside a human being that the energy is created in him in proportion to the resolution he takes. I want to say responsibly that the thoughts of positive nationalism inside this country, if we are successful in taking this ideological movement to the minds of the sons and daughters of India, then believe that such a positive energy will flow through which our India will be built. And a better person will also be created.
To build a new nation, it is necessary to change both the individual and the system. The system is governed by the individual and the individual’s thinking influences the systems. That’s why ‘Desh Ki Baat Foundation’ feels that we have to change the individual as well as the system. We also have to create a new human being and a new India too. We sons and daughters of India have to be ready to be the carriers of the idea of positive nationalism and I am sure that this path will show a new light to this country, a new light to this world. It will also fulfill the dreams of lakhs of martyrs of our freedom, who sacrificed their lives laughingly for the freedom of the country.
Inkalaab Jindaabaad . . .
